HIST 350 - Immigration and Ethnicity in the United States

Emphasizes the role of immigration in American history and the implications of ethnicity on society from the colonial era to the present, with particular emphasis on the period from 1845-1930. Discussion of ways in which immigration from Europe, Canada, Asia, and Central and Latin America influenced the development of communities throughout the U.S. Examination of immigration patterns and policies and effects of ethnicity on employment, social mobility, and industrialization.Fall, odd-numbered years.
