MPAS 523 - Primary Care

(4 credits)

Under the supervision of the site preceptor, the student will have opportunities to gain proficiency and experience in working as a member of an organized primary care team. The student will refine techniques of student-patient rapport (to include anticipation of patient needs and explanation of the essentials of an illness to a patient). The student will also perfect his/her skills in database gathering, physical exam technique, and recognition and management of acute and chronic disease.This course is an elective.
