MPAS 520 - Family Practice I

(4 credits)
Under the supervision of the site preceptor, the student will gain proficiency and experience in patient/provider interaction and in working as a member of an organized primary care team. The student will collect histories, perform physical exams, and order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. The student will use this information to formulate a diagnosis and develop and subsequently deliver patient education information. Patient care will involve both acute and chronic problems and will allow the student to integrate information obtained during the didactic year.This course is an elective.
