PHYA 490 - Introduction to U.S. Health Care

This course will provide the student with an overview of how the health care system works and how it is changing as well as the federal and state role in healthcare. Medical coding and reimbursement issues as pertaining to the PA profession will be emphasized. The course will also examine the role of new heath professional in a changing medial marketplace, including special examination of the role and the development of the physician assistant.
