PT 601 - Neuroscience 2

(2 credits)
This course will build upon the concepts, terms, and methods of investigating the anatomy and physiology of the human nervous system covered in PT 500.  The structure and function of specific regions and systems of the brain will be explored in greater depth, including the brainstem, cerebellum, cerebrum, diencephalon, basal ganglia, reticular formation, and limbic system. Neuroplasticity and its implications for physical therapy practice will also be discussed. This course will prepare the physical therapy student to integrate neuroscience knowledge into patient evaluation and therapeutic interventions.  Fall.
