HIST 262 - United States and the War on Terror (3 credits) Traces the origins of the Islamic jihad against the U.S. Examines U.S. involvement and responsibilities in the Middle East. Topics include: the uses of terrorism in history; various forms of terror; survey of Islamic culture and history; U.S. foreign policy goals and objectives; the Arab-Israeli dispute; al-Qaeda and 9/11; war in Afghanistan and Iraq; future prospects.
