MATH 215 - Introductory Statistics (3 credits) Calculus-based treatment of descriptive statistics. Probability Theory: Random variables, discrete and continuous Probability Distributions. The central limit theorems and its application to the normal approximation of discrete distributions. Point estimation, Interval estimation, Hypothesis testing. Regression Analysis, and Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Use of statistical software such as Minitab, Matlab or R. Prerequisites: MATH 112 or MATH 121 . Fall, Spring.
