EDUC 607 - School and Community Relations (3 credits + 1 credit clinical) Current issues such as tax reform and scarce resources accelerate the importance of the school superintendent’s role in fostering the engagement and confidence of the community. Few Pennsylvania school districts can support a public relations professional; consequently, this critical area becomes the superintendent’s responsibility. This course will focus on the role of the superintendent in planning and implementing system-wide and building level communications and involvement networks. Also addressed will be the utilization of community resources and the creation of collaborative efforts to provide for the educational, cultural, and health needs of students and citizens in the community.
