HIST 225 - Topics in Women and Gender in Western History (3 credits) This course examines the history of women in modern Europe, from the sixteenth to the twentieth century. In this course, we will examine historically significant events and ideas from the perspective of women’s history, and explore the questions and problems addressed by scholars of women’s history. We will learn about the construction of gender in history, and the role of gender in shaping historical experience. Fall, odd-numbered years.
