DOL 802 - Global Policy (3 credits) This course is designed for students to examine the global political economy through perspectives, problems, and policies at the federal, state and international level. Policies are formulated and enacted at many levels, but policy decisions made at an organizational level are circumscribed by those made at higher levels (state, federal and international policies). Through a review of the literature and analysis of the historical laws, regulations and policies, students will form a plan to operate in a global environment. The course will also explore the principles and the interconnectedness of policy, law, and ethics and their implications for executive leadership. Policy development and implementation, federal, state and international laws, and issues of ethics will be addressed in a broad spectrum of leadership styles and organizational settings. The course will provide executive leaders with the requisite knowledge, skills, and dispositions to remain current with issues of policy, law, and ethics while equipping them with the knowledge to positively impact the lives of the personnel and organizations within their spheres of influence. Summer.
