DOL 805 - Qualitative Research and Analysis (3 credits) The course will acquaint students with qualitative methodology and design. Students will be introduced to the philosophical underpinnings of qualitative inquiry, with a focus on anthropological and sociological antecedents of such inquiry. Students will identify the appropriate uses of phenomenological, narrative, ethnographic, grounded theory and case study approaches to qualitative inquiry are discussed. Methodologies for data collection and coding of data and qualitative research tools for this analysis will be introduced to develop competency in the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data findings. Spring.
