DOL 808 - Cultural Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (3 credits) This course will explore the opportunities and challenges that arise as workplaces become increasingly diverse. Leaders must constantly interact with peers, employees, and customers with different backgrounds, experiences, and identities. Students will learn as leaders they must effectively understand these differences to improve performance and creativity, which leads to greater employee and customer engagement, satisfaction, and inclusion. This course is designed to help leaders navigate diverse work settings and overcome barriers to creating accessible and inclusive environments where people from different backgrounds and identities can succeed. Students will apply the approaches for managing diversity and deepen their understanding of the differences around them that could impact organizational success and innovation. Students will focus on identifying and building key conceptual models including unconscious biases, behavioral change, and recognizing the dimensions of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Summer.
