PSYC 323 - Cultural Psychology

(3 credits)
An investigation of the main perspectives used to explain the interdependence between culture and human thought, emotion, and behavior. Of central interest are those theories, which explore the relationship between culture and the individual construction of meaning. Attention is also devoted to cross-cultural studies, in such areas as development, cognition, and personality. An objective analysis of sociocultural and historical influences on current cultural and race/ethnicity controversies will be explored Spring, bi-annually.
