BUSA 311 - Descriptive and Predictive Analytics for Business (3 credits) This course investigates basic descriptive and predictive statistical analysis techniques and their application in business and decision making. Starting with descriptive techniques, students will learn how to effectively visualize, summarize, and interpret data using graphical, tabular, and numeric methods. Probability concepts will also be explored, providing a solid foundation for understanding uncertainty in business data and business decisions. Predictive analytics techniques covered include regression analysis, estimation, and hypothesis testing. These tools enable businesses to make informed predictions and guide strategic decisions based on data-driven insights. Throughout the course, ethical considerations are considered, emphasizing responsible data handling and the ethical implications of analytics.
