WRIT 387 - Grammar and Editing (3 credits) A development of a focal (or conscious) knowledge of the American English Grammar System. Students will learn to analyze parts of speech, identify syntactical patterns and methods of sentence construction, and classify words in terms of both form and function in order to make smart, informed choices about their own language use. Students who earn a grade of C or higher in WRIT 387 are exempt from taking the Writing Competency Exam (WCE). Education majors who earn a final grade of B or higher in the course will meet the basic skills writing requirement. Prerequisite(s): WRIT 102 . As needed.
