NURS 477 - Practice-Focused Nursing Care for the Professional RN

(4 credits: 3 credits theory; 1 credit clinical)

This course integrates knowledge for nursing practice into holistic person-centered care, based on needs and consideration of the determinants of health. The professional nurse, as a link between the patient and the complex health environment, provides compassionate care informed by a scientific base of knowledge, including current evidence from nursing research and application to AACN Essentials. Students will complete a 1-credit immersion experience within the four spheres of care; health promotion/disease prevention; chronic disease care; regenerative/restorative care; or hospice/palliative/supportive care.
