DOL 806 - Digital Transformation of Business and Society in a Global World (3 credits) This course examines a generation of transformational change leaders in the world’s largest and oldest companies as well as in rising upstarts. Using case studies and systems design thinking, students will redefine the way they see organizations, resources, and people. Students will examine key factors that enable an organization to take advantage of the opportunities that emerging technologies provide and to stay competitive as these technologies evolve. In today’s digital landscape, traditional, co-located work teams are a thing of the past. Instead, leading companies are bringing together groups of geographically-distributed individuals using new technologies, that allow them to connect with talent and subject experts all over the world. Students will also be introduced to the latest research and trends that make teams successful, and ways that organizations can utilize technology to form effective companies in a digital world. Summer.
