DOL 809 - Executive Finance

(3 credits)
In this course students will learn how to decipher the complexities of corporate financial management to improve executive decision- making. Students will learn the language of finance to build stronger strategies, expand their influence, and make better business decisions for their organization. Specifically students will learn how to evaluate investment opportunities, understand mergers and acquisitions, develop insights into how shareholder or public value is created, and the role executives play in setting realistic performance goals and compensation incentives.  This course will examine corporate and institutional  finance from both internal and external, for-profit and nonprofit perspectives providing a solid grounding in the fundamentals of finance. The goal of the course is to provide executive leaders with the confidence to lead in capital markets and drive to new levels of profitability for globally competitive organizations and institutions.  Fall.
