MPAS 530 - Internal Medicine I

(4 credits)

Under the supervision of the site preceptor, the student will be able to refine history-taking and physical exam skills as well as learn to further identify abnormal findings on examination. He/she will gain proficiency in ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and developing a diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan. With experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, the student will be able to recognize emergent, acute, and chronic diagnoses and participate in the necessary continuity of care for each.This course is an elective.
