PHYA 452 - Clinical Medicine III

(5 credits)
Integration of major information concerning the etiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic studies and evaluation, preventive measures and treatment of adult and pediatric diseases to include special considerations regarding the geriatric population. Lectures by physicians, physician assistants and other health professionals as appropriate. Material augmented by critical thinking and seminar sessions. This course is strongly integrated with anatomy and physiology, history and physical examination and pharmacology. Curriculum is system based to include sections on Preventive Medicine, Nutrition, Genetics, Dermatology, Hematology, HEENT, Musculoskeletal, Pulmonary, Cardiology, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Nephrology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Endocrine, Psychiatry, Neurology and Surgery. Special emphasis on integrating the regional anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, preventive measures and treatment of disease processes in the pediatric, adult and geriatric patient.
