HIST 206 - Age of Conflict: 20th Century(3 credits) This course will deal with the sources of international conflict in the 20th Century and the search for peace through international organizations, collective security, and disarmament initiatives. Topics include, Western imperialism, World Wars I and II, the Cold War, NATO, the United Nations, the emergence of China, the rise of the Third World, the Arab-Israeli dispute, SALT and nuclear proliferation, Vietnam, the war on terror, and globalization. Spring.
