NURS 438 - Population Health (3 credits) This course, enriched with a global health perspective, will focus on strategies to improve the health of diverse communities. The student will examine the social determinants of health, health promotion interventions, and collaborative approaches to address public health challenges. Through the lens of population health, the student will develop skills in community assessment, program and disaster planning, policy development, and evaluation to promote health equity and address the unique needs of various populations. Environmental health is emphasized to identify patterns of disease, epidemiology, and assess the impact of interventions at a population level. Prerequisites: Junior Year Nursing Courses Spring/Summer
