AVI 448 - Aviation Law

(3 credits)
This course provides aviation students with comprehensive knowledge of aviation laws, regulations, and policies at federal, state, local, and international levels. Students will examine the historical development of aviation law, regulatory frameworks, and the rights and liabilities of various participants in the aviation industry. The course emphasizes practical application of legal principles to enable future aviation professionals to recognize and avoid legal pitfalls while understanding when professional legal counsel is necessary. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to work effectively within the legal framework governing aviation operations.  Prerequisites: Junior standing or permission of instructor.
