Field sampling techniques (e.g., saprolite sampling with hand auger, operation of surface hydrology instrumentation), laboratory analyses, experimental design, and statistical data analysis. To include a significant engineering design or analysis project.

Three lecture hours plus one four-hour laboratory period. Fall, every other year.
