FRAN 333 - Franciscan Pilgrimage: Preparation for the Journey or a Virtual Visit

The course is an insightful look into the life and spirituality of St. Francis through a study of the places in and around Assisi. Through photographs, detailed descriptions of the sites, accounts from 13th century sources and modern writers alike, the student will better understand the life journey of St. Francis as it took place in its actual historical context. Especially helpful to those preparing for an actual pilgrimage, the course is an important interdisciplinary exercise even for students who cannot make a visit to Italy.
