PA 404 - Public Health

Provides instruction in concepts of public health as they relate to the role of the practicing physician assistant. The course will assist in the development of an understanding of public health concepts that includes an appreciation of the public health system, the role of health care providers in the prevention of disease, the maintenance of population and community health and the application of public health to the daily life of a practicing health care provider. Students will develop an understanding of disease surveillance, reporting and intervention.
