The Cyber Security Administration (CSA) major is a blended program embracing state of the art digital acumen delivered agilely to meet your busy needs through online instruction and hands-on application. The program prepares you to enter the workforce either as cyber security professional or giving you an emphasis to your management or business disciplines. To meet the growing outlook for cyber security professionals, it is available for any student, but is particularly advantageous for students in Computer Science, MIS and Management majors who are also interested in information security or infrastructure protection positions in the government, private industry, or those just wanting to gain an understanding about how present local, national and world events and actions in cyber security can impact their future.
The Cyber Security Administration Major educates students in the fundamental concepts of the field of Information Technology with a particular emphasis on Cyber Security and Information Assurance. The Cyber Security Administration program prepares students to:
- to work in Information Technology departments with an expertise in Cyber Security.
- design and lead programs to provide cyber security, security awareness training, risk analysis, security incident management, continuity of operations and disaster recovery.
- manage and lead, in accordance with laws and regulations, an enterprise information security program that promotes and attains national security, agency, and inter-agency goals.
In teaching students to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and information systems that support modern organizations and drive our society, students receive a comprehensive education that focuses on both the fundamentals of information systems as well as advanced topics in areas such as cyber security, homeland security, risk management, security governance, digital forensics, business continuity planning, security architecture, physical security and critical infrastructure protection.
