- LIT 303 - Shakespeare’s Plays or
- LIT 305 - Seventeenth-Century Literature
- LIT 405 - Eighteenth-Century Literature
- LIT 406 - English Romantic and Victorian Poetry
- LIT 407 - Principles of Literary Research, Theory, and Practice
- An English elective course in writing to be chosen from ENGL 208, ENGL 220, ENGL 225, ENGL 280, ENGL 385, ENGL 387, ENGL 402, or ENGL 410
- An English elective course in diversity to be chosen from ENGL 207, ENGL 247, ENGL 270, ENGL 381, ENGL 382, ENGL 384, ENGL 386, or ENGL 450 (requires Advisor and Chair approval)
- An English elective course in genre to be chosen from ENGL 204, ENGL 302, ENGL 303 or 304 (the other course must be taken for the major), ENGL 333, ENGL 340, ENGL 383, ENGL 450 (requires Advisor and Chair approval)
