Although the minor in Social Work does not prepare students for social work practice, this course of study is useful to students in majors dealing with interpersonal interaction such as education, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or other social sciences as well as health science majors and business majors. The courses are designed to provide the theory, knowledge base and some skills required in the many professions.
The minor can be combined with any major except social work.
To earn a social work minor, students must complete 15 credits.
All students must successfully complete the Core curriculum composed of 3 courses accounting for 9 credits.
Students must then successfully complete at least 2 elective courses accounting for 6 credits.
Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
