Honors Program Curriculum:

Freshman Year:

Fall:

HNRS 101 - Introducing Honors: Leadership, Research, and Community Engagement
Honors section of General Education course

Spring:

WRIT 102 - Research Writing
Honors section of General Education course
Those who successfully complete the freshman Honors requirements will receive a waiver from COMM 103 - Speech Fundamentals and Public Speaking

Sophomore Year:

Junior Year**:

Students will take a 2-credit Seminar - with a service learning component.

Fall:

HNRS 331 - Directed Readings Tutorial

Spring:

HNRS 335 - Thesis Preparation

Senior Year:

Students will enroll in HNRS 444 , Senior Thesis (or Independent Study or Research in specific discipline), for a minimum of 3 credits.***

Notes:

*Substitutes for CORE 113 in the General Education program
**A semester of study abroad, or two separate study abroad experiences of shorter duration, may substitute for the Seminar requirement.
***Accelerated program majors should complete HNRS 444 by the end of their junior year.
