Program Description:
The Professional Writing minor is designed to inculcate students with the abilities, tools, and desire to write effectively and efficiently for a variety of audiences, purposes, contexts, and media. Particular emphasis is given to coursework in professional writing studies and digital media studies.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students who complete the Professional Writing minor will be able to do the following:
- define and identify the qualities that distinguish effective from ineffective communication in oral, written, visual, and digital formats;
- emulate in their coursework the qualities of effective communication in these four formats; and
- demonstrate their ability to compose, revise, edit, proofread, and prepare materials in these formats for professional audiences.

15 credits

Requirements: (15 credits)
Fifteen credits from the following courses; at least three credits must come from courses at or above the 300 level. Twelve credits must be WRIT, with no more than three credits from research, internship, or independent study. |
