Program Description
Compassionate Care, grounded in the Franciscan tradition, prepares future health care professionals to dialogue with patients about their health or illness. This minor gives students invaluable communication skills, emphasizing practice and experience.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Relate the Franciscan tradition to the practice and delivery of health care;
- Develop communication skills for the medical profession that are rooted in the value of compassion;
- Apply the knowledge and skills gained in classwork to a community-engaged project.
