Program Description:

‘Catholic’ means ‘universal,’ and this word was used in early Christianity to refer to the one, universal faith that Christ imparted to the Apostles and which the Apostles and their successors labored to share with the entire world.  In its 2,000 year history, the Catholic Church has become truly universal, reaching and influencing places, individuals and cultures from every corner of the world.  A minor in Catholic Studies at St. Francis University enables students to intellectually examine and assess the core principles, content and effects of this historic, universal faith.  Students in this minor are given the opportunity to take courses which explore the metaphysical, epistemological, moral, biblical, and dogmatic elements of the Catholic faith from both philosophical and theological perspectives.
