Program Description:

This offering is a set of scaffolded online offerings that would be open, accessible, affordable, and flexible for students. These programs follow the recommendations of the MBAA (Master Brewers Associations of the Americas). Tier 1 (the micro-credential) is designed for learners who seek an introduction or guidance to homebrewing. Tier 2 (the certificate) provides learners with knowledge and experience to qualify for entry level jobs in a brewery. 

 

Tier 2: Brewing Certificate 

A two-semester program to advance learners’ brewing knowledge. Tier 2 equips learners for entry level jobs within the brewery industry. The curriculum follows the MBAA’s (Master Brewers Association of the Americas) guidance on certificate programs. Tier 2 also allows for a hybrid lab experience. Tier 1 is a prerequisite (or equivalent experience or coursework), Digital badging credential included.  

Students must be 21 years old or older.

Progression and/or Retention Criteria:

Tier 1: Homebrewing Basics Micro-Credential is the prerequisite for Tier 2: Brewing Certificate. 

Other information to include, related to this program:

  • Students MUST be 21 years of age or order.  

  • Credly digital credentialing/badging 

Estimated Completion Time: 

Two (2) semesters
