Program Description

The Minor in Artificial Intelligence Literacy introduces students to the foundations of artificial intelligence and its growing role across professional disciplines. The minor is designed to help students understand how AI systems work, how generative AI tools can be used effectively in professional settings, and how to evaluate AI outputs responsibly.

Students develop practical skills in AI-assisted problem solving, prompt design, and critical evaluation of AI-generated information. Coursework also explores how artificial intelligence influences organizational decision making and examines the ethical and governance considerations associated with emerging technologies. Supporting coursework in information systems and statistics helps students understand how data, information systems, and quantitative reasoning contribute to effective AI use.

The minor emphasizes applied learning, technological literacy, ethical responsibility, and the ability to communicate insights derived from AI tools in professional environments.
