Program Description
The Business Analytics minor prepares students to apply models, methods, and tools to data to produce insights that lead to informed organizational decisions. As business and society become increasingly data-driven, professionals across all fields need to understand how data analysis can be leveraged for improved performance, strategic direction, and innovation. Students completing the minor will build competencies in the art and science of data analytics through coursework in accounting, introductory analytics, statistical methods, and data visualization, along with the opportunity to select electives that match their professional interests.
Student Learning Outcomes
The Shields School of Business will graduate students who have the knowledge, skills, love of learning, confidence, drive, and ethical and moral values needed to be spiritually fulfilled in life and successful in professional careers. Upon completion of this program, students are able to:
- Demonstrate, in the Spirit of Saint Francis in the Marketplace, knowledge of the ethical value choices and responsibilities of businesses and business leaders.
- Demonstrate the ability to professionally communicate.
- Apply analytical models, statistical methods, and data visualization tools to interpret data and generate actionable insights that support informed organizational decision-making.
