MATH 130 - Discrete Mathematics (3 credits) Discrete Mathematics is the study of structures that are discrete rather than those that are continuous. This is a mathematics course designed for students of computer science and, therefore, it is focused on topics that appear in computer science courses. Topics include data representation, entropy, proof strategies with a particular emphasis on proof by induction, sets, functions, counting and countability, finite state machines, computability, and recursive structures.
