EDUC 529 - Teaching and Learning Geometry and Measurement (3 credits) This course provides participants with a deep understanding of the mathematics knowledge needed for teaching Geometry and Measurement across the PK-12 mathematics curriculum. Learners and learning, teaching, curriculum, and assessment will all be examined in relation to Geometry and Measurement. Participants will continue to develop knowledge and skills related to mathematics education professionalism, professional development delivery, and mathematics education stakeholder engagement. The course additionally provides a foundation in critical mathematics education and in school/district leadership. Tools and technology, as they relate to sense making, reasoning, and communicating in mathematics, receive a close examination. Sixteen (16) hours field experience required. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 526 , EDUC 528 .
