General principles and theories of organic chemistry, preparation and properties of aliphatic hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, and ethers. Structure identification techniques and the practice of multi-step synthesis are introduced. Three lecture periods and one four-hour laboratory. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 122. Fall.
