FTAE 304 - Jesus: Lunatic, Liar, or Lord?

(3 credits)
“This course is a historical and theological study of the person, life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.  It examines the portrait of Jesus that is contained in the canonical New Testament, ecclesial creeds, and in major Christian texts from the patristic, medieval and modern eras.  The focus will be especially upon the meaning and intelligibility of the doctrines of the Incarnation and Paschal Mystery of Christ.  We will also put Christian views of Jesus into analytical dialogue with non-Christian and non-canonical accounts of Jesus from ancient times to today.”  As needed.
