MATH 215 - Introductory Statistics (3 credits) Calculus-based treatment of descriptive statistics. Probability Theory: Random variables, discrete and continuous Probability Distributions. The central limit theorems and its application to the normal approximation of discrete distributions. Interval estimation, Hypothesis testing. Inferences involving the chi square and F distributions. Simple and multiple Regression Analysis, Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Use of statistical software such as Excel, Minitab, Matlab or R. Prerequisites: MATH 112 or MATH 121 . Fall, Spring.
