DOL 712 - Leadership Theory, Research, and Practice (3 credits) This course will provide a theoretical understanding of leadership and group dynamics designed to generate personal insights into one’s own patterns of response to social forces, as well as to develop practical skills for exercising authority and leadership within groups and organizations. The course examines leadership theory from a historical and philosophical context as well as modern views of leadership in a global context. Students will explore major social, political, and cultural influences of leadership theory and the impact of those influences on the practice of leadership. Candidates will analyze the various leadership theories in relation to their applicability to emerging needs of organizations in the 21st century. Fall
