BIOL 383 - Biology Research Methods Seminar

(2 credits)
In this course, students will engage in an approved applied learning experience and seminar course, designed around development of research and/or clinical skills. Students will take part in a research project or significant career-focused experience equivalent to a minimum of 40 hours of time. In many cases, students will participate in undergraduate research at Saint Francis University with the faculty. Alternatively, with faculty approval, students may complete an equivalent, approved research experience off campus, or a career-specific applied learning experience, that requires similar hours and intellectual investment to an on-campus research experience. Students and faculty will meet regularly to discuss research ethics and current scientific papers relevant to the students’ research experiences, presented and discussed in a journal club format. Lecture and Lab. Intended for Juniors and Seniors, or by permission of course instructors. Pre-requisites: BIOL 110  lecutre and lab, BIOL 111  lecture and lab, and BIOL 131   Spring, Fall.
