FERM 402 - Advanced Brewing (4 credits) This course is designed as a continuation of Fermentation 302: Introduction to Brewing. The brewing process is complex and relies on multiple aspects of biology and chemistry. Through examination of the ingredients and methods of brewing, students are exposed to advanced themes and methods utilized in the brewing arts. Students learn the processes and structure of craft breweries and are expected to design and brew various types of beers. Students must be at least 21 years of age at the start of the course. Three lecture periods and one four-hour laboratory. Prerequisite(s): FERM 302 .
