BCHM 407 - Biochemistry II

(same as BIOL 407 and CHEM 407) (3 credits)

An overview of the metabolic transformations of fatty acids, complex lipids, protein biosynthesis, and nucleotides; regulatory mechanisms, including the molecular interactions of both small and large regulatory molecules; the molecular basis of genetics, including DNA and RNA metabolism; and the biochemical basis of recombinant DNA methodology. Three lecture periods. Prerequisite(s): BCHM 405. Spring, odd numbered years.
