PCT 101 - Role of the Patient Care Technician

In this course, students will examine the role of the Patient Care Technician within the scope of practice. Effective communication skills, the ability to manage conflict, and an understanding of diversity in communication and practice will be addressed. The process of identifying, interpreting, evaluating, and controlling emotions (emotional intelligence) will be studied. The legal and ethical responsibilities of the Patient Care Technician, time management, and organizational skills will also be covered in this course.
