ENGR 410 - Applied Finite Element and Volume Modeling (3 credits) Prepare discretized versions of partial differential equations using differential equations using different finite-element, finite-difference, and finite-volume strategies for solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer problems. Be able to assess the reliability and numerical accuracy of the approximate solutions generated for the exact differential equation models. Be able to determine optimal or robust solution strategies. Three lecture hours. Prerequisite(s): ENGR 250 , ENGR 301 , ENGR 315 . Corequisite(s): ENGR 375 . Spring.
