AVI 421 - Airport Management (3 credits) This advanced course provides comprehensive knowledge of airport management principles, operations, and administration. Students will examine the organizational structure, governance models, and operational requirements of airports ranging from small general aviation facilities to large commercial hub airports. The course covers financial management, revenue generation strategies, capital improvement planning, FAA certification requirements, security operations, environmental management, and stakeholder relations. Topics include airline agreements, ground handling operations, terminal management, airfield maintenance, noise abatement programs, and sustainable airport development. Students will analyze case studies from real airports and develop strategic management recommendations through practical projects.
Prerequisites: Senior standing in Aviation program and AVI 240 Introduction to Aviation Business
