PHYA 495 - Public Health

The public health course provides an introduction to the dynamics of health and disease. The course will focus on health problems particular to certain subgroups, such as the elderly, adolescents and children. Also, attention will be given to public health issues related to underserved, minority populations. Occupational and environmental health issues will be addressed in the context of the PA’s role in prevention, treatment and public education. The course includes a service learning component.
