PA 510 - Emergency Medicine I (4 credits) Under the supervision of the site preceptor, the student will examine and treat a wide variety of urgent and emergent conditions. The student must be proficient in taking an accurate history, performing a methodical, rapid and accurate directed physical exam, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, and developing a treatment plan. Clinical procedures performed during the rotation may include debridement and suturing of wounds, splinting, nasogastric tube insertion, endotracheal intubation, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
